Chicken and Vegetable Dog Meal

Ingredients:
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup carrots, chopped
- 1 cup green beans, chopped
- 1 cup sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup brown rice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cups water or low-sodium chicken broth
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
- Chop the chicken breasts into small, bite-sized pieces.
- Wash and chop the carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes.
Cook the Brown Rice:
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of brown rice with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30-40 minutes until the rice is fully cooked.
Cook the Chicken:
- In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped chicken pieces to the pot and cook until they are no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Add Vegetables:
- Add the carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, and peas to the pot with the chicken.
- Pour in 3 cups of water or low-sodium chicken broth.
Simmer:
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
- Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
Combine with Rice:
- Once the vegetables are tender, add the cooked brown rice to the pot.
- Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
Cool and Serve:
- Allow the meal to cool to room temperature before serving it to your dog.
- You can store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze portions for later use.
