🌼 Springtime Dog Cookies with Dog-Friendly Frosting 🌼

Ingredients:

For the cookies:

  • 1 cup oat flour (or finely ground rolled oats)

  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce

  • ¼ cup peanut butter (xylitol-free)

  • 1 egg

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • 2 tbsp honey (optional for a touch of natural sweetness)

For the frosting:

  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1–2 tsp cornstarch (to thicken)

  • Natural food coloring (e.g., beet powder for pink, turmeric for yellow, spirulina for green)

  • Optional: Freeze-dried fruit powder for color and flavor


Instructions:

1. Make the cookies:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, mix oat flour, applesauce, peanut butter, egg, cinnamon, and honey until a dough forms.

  3. Roll out dough to about ¼-inch thickness and cut with flower or bunny-shaped cookie cutters.

  4. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and firm.

  6. Let cool completely before frosting.

2. Make the frosting:

  1. Mix Greek yogurt and cornstarch until smooth.

  2. Divide into small bowls and stir in natural coloring.

  3. Spread or pipe onto cooled cookies.

  4. Let sit in the fridge for 10–15 minutes to set.
