Sales Tax

Where do you collect sales tax?

We collect sales tax on orders shipped to the District of Columbia (D.C.). At this time, we do not collect sales tax for shipments to other U.S. states.

Why don’t you collect sales tax in my state?

Sales tax collection by out-of-state retailers is triggered by “nexus” (either physical presence or crossing a state’s economic nexus threshold). Cornerwolf.com has no physical presence outside D.C., and our sales to each state are currently below those thresholds.

Is “no sales tax” the same as “tax-free”?

No. We don’t add sales tax—but your state may still require use tax.

Do I owe tax if Cornerwolf didn’t collect it?

Maybe—you may owe use tax if Cornerwolf didn’t collect sales tax.Many states require residents to report and pay use tax on taxable purchases when a retailer doesn’t collect sales tax. Please check your state’s rules.

When am I responsible for use tax?

If Cornerwolf doesn't collect sales tax, you may owe use tax—some states allow you to report it on your income-tax return, others require a separate form.

What address determines whether tax is charged?

Sales tax is based on the shipping address (destination-based). If your order ships to D.C., tax applies. If it ships to another state, we currently don’t collect tax.

Will this change?

It may. Tax laws and our operations can change. If we gain nexus in your state or exceed a threshold, we’ll begin collecting tax there and update this page.

What about state and local add-on taxes?

In D.C., we apply local add-ons at checkout. For other states, none are collected—but you may owe use tax.

Are discounts taxed?

Discounts/Coupons: Tax (where applicable) is calculated on the discounted price.


Are gift cards taxed?

Gift cards: Not taxed when purchased. If tax is due, it applies to the items bought with the gift card, based on the shipping address.

Is shipping taxable?

Shipping tax depends on location. We follow local tax rules where we collect; otherwise, shipping isn’t taxed at checkout.

I’m tax-exempt. How do I place an order?

If you’re tax-exempt and shipping to D.C., please email your resale/exemption certificate to customerservice@cornerwolf.com before ordering so we can set your account appropriately.

How are returns handled if I paid with a gift card?

Returns follow our policy. If you paid with a gift card, refunds are issued as store credit.

Shipping

Do you ship to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses?

No- we are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

Do you offer free local delivery in Washington DC?

Yes! We offer free local delivery within 10 miles of our store.

  • Same-Day Delivery: Order before 3 PM for same-day delivery.
  • Next Business Day: Orders after 3 PM will be delivered the next business day.
  • Minimum Order: Local delivery is free for orders over $15.
Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! We offer free shipping on orders of $49 or more(after discounts). Orders under $49 have a flat-rate shipping fee of $4.99.

When will my order ship?

Orders are processed within 1 business day (Monday to Friday).

  • Orders placed before the daily cutoff may qualify for same-day shipping.
  • Orders placed on weekends are processed the next business day.
Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes, expedited options are available at checkout for an additional fee. Free and flat-rate shipping apply to standard ground shipping only.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Most customers receive their orders within1 to 5 business days, depending on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. We work hard to get your pet’s goodies to you as quickly as possible!

What if I’m not home during delivery?

No worries! If you're not home, we'll leave your order at your door or in a secure spot so your furry friend doesn't miss out.

Which carriers do you use?

We work with trusted carriers like UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, and other reliable providers to ensure safe, prompt delivery.

What happens if my order is lost during shipping?

Once your order is handed off to the shipping carrier, the risk of loss transfers to you. Please contact us at CustomerService@Cornerwolf.com if you need help locating your shipment.

What is your Satisfaction Guarantee?

Try anything for 30 days. If it’s not a fit, we’ll help with a return, exchange, or refund.

What’s your return window?

30 days from delivery.

What condition do items need to be in?

New/unused with original packaging. Treats/food must be unopened unless there’s a quality issue.

How do I start a return or exchange?

Contact us via Contact Us or customerservice@cornerwolf.com with your order number and reason. We’ll send simple instructions (and a label when applicable).

Who pays for return shipping?

Defective/damaged/wrong item: we cover the label.


Change-of-mind/size/flavor: use our prepaid label (deducted from refund) or ship your own.

Do you refund the original shipping?

Full order returned: product price + sales tax + original standard shipping.


Partial returns: original shipping isn’t refunded.


Expedited shipping: not refundable.

When will I receive my refund?

After the return is delivered and inspected; banks usually post in 3–5 business days.

Can I exchange instead of refund?

Yes—tell us what you’d like; we ship the replacement once the original is scanned in transit.

What about free gifts & bundles?

If a return drops the order below the promo threshold, include the gift or we deduct its value.

Damaged or wrong item?

Contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos—we’ll replace or refund at our cost.

What items can’t be returned?

Opened consumables (unless defective), final-sale/clearance (if marked), and gift cards.

Lost package / delivery issue?

Reach out—we’ll investigate with the carrier and help resolve it.

Do you price-match?

Yes—within 7 days of purchase for the same new item from an authorized retailer. Send a link/screenshot; we refund the difference once verified. Excludes auctions/marketplaces, coupons/loyalty, bundles, or obvious pricing errors.

Gift Cards

Can I return or get a refund for a gift card?

No, gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash, unless required by law.

Do Cornerwolf.com gift cards expire?

Never! Our gift cards do not expire and can be used anytime at Cornerwolf.com.

Where can I use my Cornerwolf gift card?

Gift cards can only be used for purchases on Cornerwolf.com. They are not valid at third-party retailers or stores.

What if I lose my gift card?

Please treat your gift card like cash. We do not offer replacements for lost or stolen gift cards.

Can I use a gift card to buy another gift card?

No, gift cards cannot be used to purchase additional gift cards.

What happens if my order total is more than the gift card balance?

You can still complete your purchase by paying the remaining balance with another accepted payment method.

What if I don’t use the full gift card amount in one order?

No problem! Any unused balance will stay on the card for future purchases.

Can I apply a discount or promo code when buying a gift card?

No,promo codes, discounts, and sales do not apply to gift card purchases.

Can a gift card be canceled or blocked?

Cornerwolf.com reserves the right to cancel any gift card suspected of fraudulent activity.
